Yeah, stealing from used/independent bookstores and thrift shops will probably invoke some kind of karmic retribution a la choking to death on pizza rolls, unwanted autoerotic asphyxiation, etc., so don't do it.

I remember a few things made me laugh. but it's that sort of McSweeney's hyper-self-aware "humour" that gets tiring after a bit.

For a former anglophile, I use surprisingly few British-isms. I do say "university" instead of college, and "cinema" instead of theatre though.
