To give you just one example, respectable colleges and broadcasters now say there are over 100 genders. Many of the things they list as official genders LITERALLY originate from tumblr, but they don't know that. Those who challenge them do so with /pol/-tier talking points, again not knowing where this style of argument comes from. Both are possessed by meme viruses.
