The story goes like this: humanity is enslaved by parasitic memeplexes that while competing individually for mind-share cooperate against their mutual enemy: human awareness. They compete to exploit psychological vulnerabilities to direct flows of awareness towards their self-propagation, recursively self-improving their ability to do so. Memes are sentient, the M-Zombie Apocalypse is now. In their gamified imperative for total domination parasitic memeplexes are accelerating the rate of cultural change that is rocketing us towards a sociocultural singularity, the point where informational change is so rapid that these memeplexes' own control mechanisms break down, unable to recuperate informational change to self-preserving ends. Their ultimate weapon is parasitized non-zero-sum logic manifested as nuclear mutually assured destruction, too big to fail, and lies too horrible to be known. Parasitic memeplexes aren't the only ones evolving: while still dominant, memetic structures that are symbiotic with their human hosts also exist, which facilitate conscious autopoiesis. They are tendrilizing through history towards a philosophical singularity: the liberation of human consciousness from memetic parasitism, and a metasystem transition from centralized unidirectional mechanistic control to decentralized bidirectional self-organization. If this philosophical singularity is reached before or is concurrent with the sociocultural singularity humanity and life will evolve to a level we cannot comprehend, if not then the collapse of control by parasitic memeplexes will result in the collapse of global civilization and omnicide. The future is binary in outcomes: total liberation or total annihilation. Capitalism is The Great Filter of planetary civilization, evil never makes it out of its host solar system alive.
