Waldun typifies something quite sad about modernity, which is the ability to educate oneself without discovery. Old fags remember how when it came to anime or books or board games you had a group of friends and some forums or magazines and you learned through passion and dedication. About five years ago I decided I wanted to get really into film, the first time I really dived into something new since Web 2.0 and fuck man. The internet offers so much information that I can talk about French new wave or Italian neo realism etc without ever having seen any of those films. I mentioned this phenomenon to a friend in regards to Waldun after he said Waldun could name drop with the rest of them. You can read what you want but frankly there is no reason why a 16 yr old should be reading Proust and the stuff he reads, and if they are then it should be under a tutor of some kind.
