>untold history of Class in America
?????

She must have missed just about all of the well-known, very commonly cited American intellectuals of the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

What's the hardest non-technical English book you've ever read? Non-fiction included

I want to read more books like Veblen's "Theory of the Leisure Class" and Marx's "Das Kapital." Sorry if I've evoked derisive sniggers; I'm not well read but plan on working on it

Reasonably modern English (no Chaucer or Beowulf) with complex grammar and diverse verbiage. I want to consult my dictionary every two pages and write down sentences purely for their grammatical eloquence, not their content.

In terms of fiction, I guess Dracula and Frankenstein qualify.
