>Since a [furry] is constrained by necessity to know well how to use the [fursuit], among the [fursonas] he must choose the fox and the lion, because the lion does not defend itself from traps(uwu), the fox does not defend itself for the wolfies. One therefore needs to be a fox to recognize traps(uwu), and a lion to to dismay the wolfies.
what did he mean by this?

>“I conclude therefore that, fortune being changeful and mankind steadfast in their ways, so long as the two are in agreement men are successful, but unsuccessful when they fall out. For my part I consider that it is better to be adventurous than cautious, because fortune is a woman, and if you wish to keep her under it is necessary to beat and ill-use her; and it is seen that she allows herself to be mastered by the adventurous rather than by those who go to work more coldly."

Books about power, specifically in a professional context?
When I was younger I thought that the world was governed by universal principles and laws and that people are fundamentally equal, but with time I learned that overall the interests of people more powerful than you define the limits of your freedom and no two people are equal.
I read The Prince and 48 Laws of Power, The Art of Worldly Wisdom, and Secrets to Winning at Office Politics, and enjoyed all of them. What else is there?

Looking for a good biography for Niccolò Machiavelli.

So I've recently been reading about influential figures in the renaissance period and found myself intrigued by the works and life of Machiavelli. Having read The Prince, I'd like to read more about the author.

After a quick search, I've of course found more than one biography available reguarding Machiavelli but which would /lit/ recommend? Which is the more insightful?

Let's have a historic figures biography thread whilst we're at it.
