I understand this question is a meme, but what fantasy book is seriously like Dark Souls? Nobody can give me a straight answer, ever. No Berserk/other comic books.

This has ready been discussed a few threads ago. It's one of the biggest plot holes I find with Second Apocalypse (bearing in mind i have only read the first trilogy). Why weren't the Dûnyain a world power, instead of being in a secluded monastery-fortress? You would are just as evil and deceptive as Kellhus, and look at one man's influence on the entire world, imagine an entire race's influence on the world.

So is The City & the City by Miéville worth reading for somebody entirely unfamiliar with his work? I'm travelling and have nothing else to read except that the complete Howard's Conan, but I've read those to death at this point.
