Ayn Rand has narratives

All libertarian books are written proxiologically, or as i say it "a priori." They're all written using logical deduction, and don't rely on statistics. The benefit is that they are iron-clad logically speaking, and they are timeless. Hans Herman Hoppe's "Democracy the God that Failed", Walter Block's "Defending the Undefendable", Henry Hazlet's "Economics In One Lesson", Ayn Rand's "Virtue of Selfishness" were all written without citing any statistics or topical examples. They all could have been written in an empty room with no tv or internet. Which makes them logically consistent -- to a fault.

Thomas Sowell, on the other hand, does use topical research. He sites statistics, and historical examples. He listst like 8 examples of white people ending slavery. 6 minority ethnicities who were enslaved and have a higher median household income than whites in America. And 4 ways that caribbean blacks outperform american blacks, implying that racism is not the cuase of black people's poverty. He has everything that the proxiological libertarians don't have. His books aren't too hard to read i don't think. I recommend pic related by Walter Block

To answer your question, none of them dumb it down too much. you do have to pay attention. The only narrative format is Ayn Rand and her books are massive.

a detective once asked a mathematician to calculate the trajectory of a stray bullet that shot through a roof. he came back with a parameter, and sure enough, the bullet was within that radius. Now imagine you use math to predict it. now imagine you shoot like 20 to cover all your bases. now imagine you get really good at this on minecraft

>cynicism, materialism, pessimism, and meaninglessness of modern culture
the cynicism of modern culture comes straight from Marx, and every subsequent Marxist.

Any free market capitalism book (like pic related) demystifies it. How the fuck can they say children watching trannies fuck is OK. Niggers killing old people for saying nigger is OK. And satanist lesbians doing heroine is OK. but you should feel guilty for buying a big plasma TV.
The fact is that life is meaningless because god doesn't exist. If you have a big TV or not doesn't change the fact that god doesn't exist, and we're all going to die some day. So life is meaningless and has always been meaningless both if we stuff our faces with burgers, or are toiling in a potato field 1000 years ago. It's just that 1000 years ago, we were too busy in the potato fields to sit and ponder about it.
