Do you always post on /lit/ after giving up on a novel after the first page? You could at least put in a fraction of the effort an author spent writing into reading the work.

Hey /lit/, who would win in a cage fight between Stephen Dedalus and Holden Caulfield?

More importantly, which did you feel to be the better novel? Personally I think I'd have to give the edge to Catcher in the Rhye over A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man. It's much more accessible for one, and I find Sallinger's satire more appealing than Joyce's dry prose. Plus it got rid of John Lennon, so there's another plus.

Hey /lit/, I just got a Simple Touch Screen Nook. I want to put some .epub files onto it. I just dragged a few into the Nook folder on my computer, but they're not showing up on the device. What should I do now? Joyce always related.

BLOOOOOOOOOOMSDAY!

question: can anyone here understand Ulysses without having an aneurism?

I want to, but I feel like I'm supposed to get in-jokes about the local pubs in dublin made by Ovid on amphetamines and my mind starts to blank.
