Are there any other history books with decent prose?

October by China Miéville is really good, although its mostly about pre-soviet Russia.
It details the backstabbing and power struggles in the Bolshevik party as well as the provisional government and the other parties in 1917.
Worth the read!

Saw some danger hair low test male reading pic related on the subway here in Toronto. He was holding it up to make sure everyone could see, and he had a slight smile on his face. I observed his reading habit and he took about 5 minutes per page. Every now and then he would look around I assume either to make sure people were looking at him, or was weirded out I was looking at him.
