I know that it's hard to get jobs with a degree in the humanities but is that also the case if I were to, say, study philosophy at Cambridge?

Surely you could respond in a more constructive manner than "you haven't read muh books" and refute my statement on how antinatalism is fundamentally a sort of negative collectivist hedonism.

Your condescension is entertaining, since it is precisely this life denying filth that you think of as the final stadium which I have overcome to yet again embrace life fully instead of dismissing it in favour of empty, self-righteous indignation. Enjoy your intellectual leper colony.

But I am moving sort of delicately towards my own brand of greatness, becoming more and more vital and living more and more simply and contently. I just want to be a life affirming healthy happy poorfag. As far as I'm concerned there's nothing greater than satyrdom. I'd rather be in the forest than on Mount Olympus.

Quick question: I am trying to remember a particular anthology of Mythology book. Not the one by Edith Hamilton but a different guy. It has three sections, one for Greek, Norse, and Ye Olde English mythology. I think his name starts with a B or something like that.

Google is decidedly unhelpful for this particular inquiry, despite that is is probably one of the quintessential anthologies on mythology. They almost carry a copy at your local Barnes and Noble....

Please and thank you for any assistance

Here's the first three paragraphs. Sorry, this story is still in its first draft, I'm just really excited about it.
The forest was silent. Leaves fell like thunderclaps and Sergius slowly lowered himself to the ground. The birds trusted him, but they had no love of men, and Sergius knew to hide. His mother had warned him, trust not the men for they hate what you are.

The morning sun sent rays of burning light that kaleidoscoped off fresh dewdrops and projected a pattern of flashing lights across Sergius’ frame as he expertly slipped through the underbrush. He was propelled by human hands, a gift from his mother, and inhumane legs, a curse from something else.

Sergius reached a small outcropping above an overgrown path--reclaimed by the forest after years of disuse. The small trail, now blanketed with a thick layer of bright green leaves, was abandoned by the humans as the forest grew more wild. He wondered why they would choose now to trespass. Sergius allowed his curiosity to overtake him and he slowly crept to the edge and leaned over to inspect the distant human figure.

Here's the first three paragraphs without any edits. I promise I won't post unedited material from this story again.

I'm writing a short story called Satyr about a goatman living in the woods.

Here's my question - should the central protagonist be the satyr himself, and his eventual loss of innocence as he's flung into contact with humanity, thereby creating an allegory of the dual nature of what we see as savage.

Or should I make the central protagonist the girl who discovers him, and through her own naivety puts in him in a position to lose what's left of his humanity?

Which would be more interesting? I haven't written my first line yet because I'm conflicted on whom to start with.

It's because Lord of the Rings is a better book.
