I started reading The Fountainhead and I am not at all averse to Libertarian thinking but the writing is just so fucking bad.

The bad guys are weak, ugly, efette socialists who go to great lengths to demonstrate their hatred of innovators and individuals, while the heroes - sorry hero, as there is only one, is not only naturally handsome and fit and talented and intelligent but also displays a bunch of autistic tendencies which are clearly just Ayn Rand trying to identify her own antisocial neuroticism with this ubermensch-like figure.

The plot is completely irrelevant because no matter what happens we already know Rourke is the most intelligent, the most talented, going to win every conversation, and going to triumph despite the shit jobs given to him. I don't need to read how it ends, I already intuitively know. Not worth another 500 pages of my time.
