>I've arrived at Hume and I'm getting filtered by him.
In what way? do you mean,
>but he completely turned my idea of rationality upside down
How different his thoughts were from yours originally? That's good, if so. But if you mean his writing, personally I find Hume to be one of the clearest, concisest, most skilled writers in all of philosophy. I recall Gaddis in his letters also saying something similar,
>I remember one, in which I had commented on what a fine style in David Hume; my antogonist started immediately with saying that Hume did not try to write in a style, but the style came about as he wrote writing to say what he had to say.
Gaddis loved Hume's style so much he had two fictional characters argue over it. But that doesn't exactly prove he's "clear" or "concise", in fact, if you've read Gaddis what I just said might be evidence of the opposite lol

>Does philosophy become harder from here on?
Personally I think it only gets easier. To me, I was just bumbling and billowing through all of philosophy until I discovered Hume saying some real shit like, “you can burn anything that doesn’t contain quantity or number, or experimental reasoning” and then you think alright maybe philosophy isn’t just a bunch of total jerkoffs (etc, dogmatic slumber) and then KANT comes along and it all becomes clear why you’ve been bothering for so long, that the pillar of experience has been there the whole time. And you were naive but now you know better, and you’re thankful for it. Just my take on it anyway...

>Hi there, K-Anon here! My inspirations are people like Sebald,
>because I try to make them personal and emotional on a human level
>I wanted to convey a sense of failure and directionlessness
this is excellent, keep writing, i look forward to seeing more from you, &im glad you're familiar with Sebald, my only critique would be to study him closer if you like this sort of writing (Rings of Saturn ofc, but also other stuff like A Place in the Country even tho it might be boring, and maybe the writers he liked). Don't be afraid to make shit up, although I think there's probably a line somewhere between fiction and total misinformation, but he made it seem like there wasn't. One of his ex-students made an article about all the different maxims that he had noted down from Sebald's classes taught at the Uni of East Anglia, which is a good read even if you don't like him (https://fivedials.com/fiction/the-collected-maxims-of-w-g-sebald/).).

ive been microdosing, only $105 and i have enough to microdose for like 3 YEARS. 30x220ug needlepoint tabs. 20-30ug per dose, which is on the high end for some ppl, every other other day. so like ~100 days a year if im consistent. 100 * 20ug = 2000ug which is less than 1/3rd of what ive got. ive never done any other drug, not even cannabis, mostly for that reason. i have a friend spending hundreds per month on weed, only to, what, lower his ambition?

anyway it doesnt exactly make me more sane. mostly just very "manic" tho probably not true mania. happy. comfortable in my body. and as far as any sort of hangover goes, i think DFW had it right,
>Hal wasn't sure he concurred. An alcohol hangover was definitely no frolic in the psychic glade, all thirsty and sick and your eyes bulging and receding with your pulse, but after a night of involved hallucinogens Hal said the dawn seemed to confer on his psyche a kind of pale sweet aura, a luminescence.

>Just want to say that you're guaranteed to suck for a year. Persist, and it becomes a very life-changing experience. Learing to play the music you love, makes you appreciate it on a far deeper level.

> Any unwanted human experience can be turned into a mental disorder by following the simple steps I’ve just outlined. Try it yourself with envy (invidia), rage (furorism), loneliness (infrequentia), or doubt (dubitarism). You can turn any normal human experience into a mental disorder following these steps. Sleeping more than usual? Going through the motions? Not interested in what’s going on around you? Apathetic? Bored? That exactly describes a teenager on a two-week summer vacation with her parents! But now we have a better name for it: dysmoveria. Isn’t it nice that soon there will be a drug to give your daughter so that she will be more pleasant and pliable when she accompanies you on your annual vacation to Nebraska?

> I think you can see the basic ruse. What is the phrase “mental disorder” supposed to connote? As it is currently used, it means precisely the following: anything not wanted. All you need to do is give the unwanted experience a medical-sounding name and describe its look and you’ve created a disorder. That look is called a “symptom picture” but that’s just a fancy phrase meant to sound more impressive than “look.” Give a human experience a fancy name and describe its look—that’s all that’s needed. The unwanted, troubling experience is surely real, but calling it a mental disorder is just a profitable naming game.
