Oh, I see. You're one of those people who took the book literally.

Btw, he wasn't self sufficient. He'd have lunch at his parents house often. And because he was interesting, he'd get invited to have dinner at people's homes. Also, his house was only like a mile away. Also, he did it for 2 yrs as an experiment and then went back to society (he never left it tho lol).

The book is much more than self sufficency. It's about what's important to you in life and how much work you're willing to put into it and finding out what's important too. Also, it's a commentary on society. And naturism. Not the best book on naturism, but this was a great combo.

So, calm the fuck down and make your life simpler. Want less and work less and live in greenery and you'll be happy :)

Really liked The Diamond Age by Stephenson, not sure how new it is though, I rarely look at publishing dates. Cixin Liu has a nice short story collection called The Wandering Earth, and Ken Liu published a nice one called The Paper Menagerie.

Any books that portray true love? I read about too much heartbreak, and now I want to know what love between a man and a woman really is.

I would too, but I am a male, which isn't the same. I'd probably appreciate if someone wrote a love letter to me out of nowhere, but I'm pretty sure the girl I like would just find it either weird or creepy. I know her, and we are friends, and I believe it's possible she might like me back. I'm just so tired of "playing the game". Flirting and all that nonsense, it's never worked before and it feels so tiresome and soulless.

But I understand that's just how it is in this day and age. I really don't want to mess things up here, she's been on my mind all over the last year
