I feel (and project) that the final world-sentiment of our globalised civilization is approaching and it's on a trajectory to become pessimism. We are in a situation envisaged by Mainlander: he wanted to bring about Utopia so that people, at the peak of civilization and it's comforts, could look down and see more clearly than ever the tragedy of human predicament, by way of a contrast. In the end, either we go extinct due to climate change, or declining birth rates.

New here. What does it mean when someone says "based"?

A dog is ceaselessly barking in your neighborhood while you are trying to read. The short respite after each yelp is made unbearable by your anticipation of the next. The owners are evidently out to work and will not be home for hours. You gaze hopelessly at the copy of War and Peace sitting open at your desk. Suddenly, the barking stops and hope begins to simmer in your breast. You wait, but cynicism takes hold, threatening to crush the budding spirit which had begun to flower in earnest just a moment ago. It will return, you think to yourself--the barking will return. A fainter cry is heard in the distance--the other dog loudly retorts and they begin another bout. It will never end, you despair. You stare out your window at the cloudless blue of midday, lamenting its perfection, spoiled by the sharp, desperate bursts of a carnal, unthinking beast not fifty yards away. Unconsciously, tension has arisen in the deep muscle fibers of your back, paralleling disturbing, violent thoughts which begin to drift into your consciousness. You think of the rifle sitting in your closet. No, you whisper, as you suddenly come to--no, there are too many of them. I cannot march about the suburbs, slaying dogs like a wild man--there are simply too many. Meanwhile, the barking continues, each burst threatening to be the one which topples your sanity for good. Your patience is at its end. You cannot even remember the scene of the latest chapter from which you were grossly severed. How many barks have assaulted your serenity in steady succession? Fifty? No, hundreds at least! Thousands, even. You cannot remember. Time crumbles down into the single, shattered fragment which holds your present pain--nothing but cruel, incessant pain. You feel ill, as thought caught in the surf while wave after wave lifts you up and down and up again. There is nothing for it. The unwieldy brute cries out again and again. You are on the brink.

What the fuck is the point of all these wage and labor and safety laws and regulations if they are just going to be ignored by importing people from the third world who don't understand the language and aren't educated on their rights as laborers in said country?
And top of all of that, now you're criticizing the actual citizens of these countries for living under these laws, laws which were massively campaigned for by progressives as absolute necessities for first world nations
I mean seriously what the fuck is going on here? Why have these laws at all if this is how they are treated?
I've seen this shit in my MHA classes, students and professors will criticize institutions for not offering high wages and health care plans. Then they will say we need immigrants because greedy Americans demand high wages and health care plans for work.

So let me get this straight..

Faust and Mephisto forget about the Gretchen shitshow right away and go on vacay in a Greek mythology acid trip.

They invent paper money and try to bring back the master race, then Faust gets a hard on for Helen of Troy and passes out from it.

Mephistopheles steals Faust's clothes off his body while he's sleeping and goes out on the town to have a bizarre sex-change meld with three disabled grannies, permanently making him a hermaphrodite. All this right before meeting a little homunculus, and carrying the little abomination around before tossing him into the ocean to fuck dolphins, I think.

Some years later old-man Faust finally drops dead and Mephisto has a West Side Story standoff with heaven's angels, who are there to claim Faust anyways, despite him remaining largely a dickhead most of his life. Also I'm pretty sure he called in a hit on an elderly couple.

In the end Mephisto fails to harvest Faust's soul because he got horny for a minute.
