I searched for books where characters are competent and intelligent but couldn't find any. So I tried out this genre called "rational fiction" and it made me lose all hope in literature. Apparently rational fiction means gary stu self insert garbage that is not rational at all. Like Project Hail Mary or Worm, which both have very high ratings.
