Eh, it's okay. There are a lot of normies and by-the-book chuds around. But I imagine that's the case for all universities. And field is kind of badly set up right now, so not that much going on and not that many opportunities. Though I'm not the research type of guy, which any modern university is specialized on. That's what most people on here as well can't stand, from what I could gather. You shouldn't put too much passion? fervor? into studying and into identifying with being a student, being a student here, being a person of whatever-you-study. I'm really just here for a degree; and that's saved me from quitting with the type of people I've met academically. The teachers are mostly okay though: very social, direct, friendly and personal. That's a strong side of most German universities. I've heard some bad things from physics though concerning graduate studies.

The city is really doing it for me more than studying. If you're a writer, artist, any kind of anon type of guy then this is the perfect place. It's pretty expensive but even an entry level side job can pay for your place and a lot of extra consumerism leaving you with a lot of free time to do whatever you want. You need to live in the Altstadt though.
I'd probably like to do my graduate in New York or Berlin. Not that those schools are necessarily all that good, but I imagine the variety of people around is by virtue of those city's size alone more varied, and for me, thus, more interesting.
