Well, I don't think either of these problems (a lack of sexual attraction to guys and a lack of emotional attraction to women) is insurmountable. Neither do I think you should get terribly hung up on whether you have a valentines or not; the day only has a special meaning if you give it one. Human beings have quite a unique characteristic of completely endogenous change. That is to say, of being able to affect itself through its own powers. Unlike a rock, which can never move or change under its own powers, people can be influenced to great lengths merely by their own abstractions. In a sense, this robs us of much universality and necessity, and some may despair at this fact. Yet, I think it is really quite liberating: it means that many aspects of myself are entirely within my control. Of course there are limitations, and the mind can be stubborn in its beliefs, but not as many as we may think; There also may be things about the world we cannot change, but of oneself, things are far less limited. So qualifiers such as 'pathetic' can't be thought of as a necessary quality of (you), as what (you) are is contingent on your accepting it to be. I'm rambling a bit, but what I mean to say is that you shouldn't take your situation as it is now as necessary and immutable; if you simply decided tomorrow, with all your heart, to rectify it, and acted in accordance with that conviction, it would slowly become true. Sometimes all it takes is the will to believe.
Anyway, sorry for submitting you to my pseud ramblings. Like I said, don't get too hung up on it. I'm sure you will be able to figure it out, if you really put your mind to it. And I sincerely hope you do.

He was repeating Aristotles negative argument for the principle of non-contradiction. The relativism of the Sophists was a claim about absolute knowledge, not merely moral relativism, and so it is a valid argument.
