>I really find the innocent and girly "desire" Lolita had to be with Humbert as something beautiful

Remember that the narrative is written from Humbert's point of view, and therefore unreliable. He is lusting madly after this girl. He doesn't even see her as an individual, a human, a real person - she is a figure to him, an image of sensuality, a fantasy, an ideal. He doesn't even call her by her real name - he calls her Lolita.

The "innocent and girly desire" Lolita has for him is something he wants, and so it's something he perceives in her. however, given that she's a prepubescent girl, it is probably not real. It's only real in his mind, while he lives this fantasy.

>in part 2 everything starts going downhill, she becomes a bratty girl and Humbert a manipulator. Why THE FUCK isn't part 1 longer?

In part 2, reality starts to creep in. Once he starts having sex with her, all the anticipation is gone. He starts realizing she is not a Nymphet, but just a regular girl - and he doesn't like her. He starts to tire of her. She's a bratty girl because she is a small child - and a miserable one at that, with no family in the world except some old guy she has to have sex with.

Part 1 isn't longer because Lolita is not a happy romantic erotic fiction about a young girl and an older man. It's an account of a paedophile's lust - the building of it and the inevitable fall - told from the paedophile's emotional perspective.

If you want porn go read porn.

>Not that I am a fucking pedo or anything

>read all of Shakespeare's plays
>read

plz no

They are plays, you pretentious branlet. They're meant to be seen performed. Go see them on a stage or watch a movie/recorded stage performance. Pick ones that are close to the 'original' imagination and also ones that give the setting and characters a modern/alternative twist, in order to recognize how the writing, themes and characters stand up in multiple contexts.

Have a copy of the text in hand if you want to follow along with the performance, and feel free to focus in and study key moments and lines - but by God please do not sit there and fucking read through the entire works of Shakespeare like they are novels. You will get little to nothing out of the experience.
