>left values literacy more than many on the right
It's true that the right (at least in America, I can't speak for other countries) has a lot more working class types who tend to be less well-read, but the left seems to be becoming increasingly anti-intellectual, and hostile towards anything that doesn't fit their worldview. After all, the majority of literature from the early to mid 20th century and earlier was written from a perspective that would be considered "right wing" by today's standards, even if it wasn't meant to be political in nature. The mentality of denigrating any work that doesn't conform to modern standards of political correctness, or wanting to bury the legacy of authors who they see as emblematic of the white supremacist patriarchy, limits them to very little besides Marxist theory and shallow YA novels. At the same time, I see a faction emerging among the right that yearns for a return to old aristocratic values, including literacy.

I have a problem.
I have tried reading the Illiad, Leviathan and Politics by Aristotle. I stopped reading them for the following reasons.
Illiad- the constant mentioning of the untracable soldiers who always take up a paragraph to describe. Their locations are gone for centuries and it takes away the attention from the action. I couldn't concentrate on the important events. I have read a historians book which retells the story with the basics actions and motives. Am I in the wrong here?
Leviathan- like Kant his logical structure and sentence structure is really hard to follow. I kept losing the trace of thought, though I really wanted to read this book. Can I just get a newer version? This text really sounds like the 17th century original.
Politics- his arguments do not seem to convey any helpful information about politics. I have only read 10 pages, but it seems to be a waste of time since there is hardly anything that could be applied to the general knowledge of politics. It would be smarter to spend the available reading time on newer authors like Kissinger, Locke.
On what points am I wrong?

It's far too fragmented to be called a movement, not to mention all the people trying to claim they're at it's head
This is effectively the Protestant/Lutherian deviation of the Religion of Equality and Laissez-faire capitalism

WE LUTHER NOW

Ive seen some shit screencapped that reinforced this belief, a lot of marxist and communist sentiment and insults for right wing opinions.

Just a couple days ago some guy posted his massive marxist material collection with like 8 copies of lenins combined works or something, a shelf bending at the boards from all the marxism it was holding lol..

I have this pic related., which I just realized is a slightly updated version, has a few already on it including leviathan, which Ill have to consider.

Im almost done Donald Trumps new book, and I know he writes at a preschool level and its not exactly massively revolutionary mind boggling stuff, but was just looking for some far-right political science... I want to take a cannonball off the deep end, stepping out of the kiddie pool.

Your argument goes both ways, though. Why would the history of oppressed people be accurately portrayed by themselves? What's the guarantee that they won't distort history to make themselves look like they got it worse than it actually happened, or that the consequences were much more drastic than they were? Both sides are likely to distort whatever happened. You may not be aware but there's dozens of japanese books crying about how americans dominated and humiliated their country. Do you really think they're concerned with the truth? I see no reason to not follow the same line of thought for radical leftists.
>All of those books are fantastic.
I'm sure many right wingers think the same about most books (politically, that is) in pic related, too.
