I finished listening to Way of Kings. Half of this book could have been cut out and it would make no difference. I imagine myself turning this book into a comedic adventure film. I imagine bridgemen falling into the chasm with the Wilhelm scream and Kaladin and his boys cracking jokes as they kill "Parshendi". Instead we get this self serious pseud nonsense where the end of every chapter has to be some reflection on honor or leadership. The readers for the audio were very good though.

Also fuck Shallan. Her entire story is pointless.

Thoughts on this series? Thinking of starting it, and I read the Mistborn trilogy but thought it was just okay.
Am I ever going to find a series as good as Malazan...
