ITT: Social Justice novels that aren't Social Justice Warrior novels.

I'm taking a course on Harlem Renaissance lit at the moment, and everybody in it is maximum Tumblr: a bunch of white people who just wanna talk about Ferguson.
At the same time I'm taking a literary crit course with a student who's found a way to sneak the statement that white people can't be prejudiced against into about 5 conversations.

I know I shouldn't be taking up a political opinion just for good company, but these people who use politics as an excuse for their shitty personality really gets under my skin.

I really need books that reassert human value that don't go way up their own aas, even taking the puss out of other members of the cause, like pic related.
