Might be cool. I'm also writing post-singularity scifi, but it's set at the "knee-of-the-curve" so the world still feels quite normal. I only deal with humans, enhanced humans, and Augmented Reality humans without a physical form.
What exactly is your protagonist's problem, and why do they hate being human? Is it because he was lied to, wants revenge or justice? Why would his identity matter and not just desire for autonomy (think "Robot Dreams" by Asimov where a robot imitates Moses. The I Robot movie alludes to that too)?
How is line between human and robot thin, yet there's a two tier society where robots are on the bottom? What helps people tell the difference, and how arbitrary is it?

Without it, it gives a disorienting effect. The intro to Ender's Game is just dialogue, and there's pretty much no context. It can work but usually people need a swift kick to show them what's going on.

Has anyone here actually written a novel? Where did you start? Any special tools you guys use to keep track of stuff?

I want to start, but I feel like going off the deep end with a long story might be too much, should I start with short stories to get comfortable with writing?

You have to wonder how all these cultures and peoples are so advanced, perfect, and great yet are either shitholes, used to be shitholes before Europeans invaded, or are only propped up because of European money.

Has anyone noticed how everything of cultural value produced in America has been made by European migrants of first or at most second generation? After a generation or two in Murrika they seem to drop a few dozen IQ points and switch interests to MTV and Walmart.

Do you guys outline your chapters and characters first, or just write and let it come naturally, outlining later just as a quick reference sheet to remember stuff?
