Does anyone else read their previous short stories or novels after a few years, and rewrite them? I feel that I wrote one a couple years back that had a good story and ideas behind it, but blundered it because I was less experienced.

Is it possible to translate a book written in a language you don't know?

I wonder if this is something "normal" among literary translators? Closely-related languages should be easy to translate with the help of a dictionary, more so today.
