dude you got BTFO'd, just face it and stop pretending like you can read archaic dialects of languages that have the same ancient base as yours. No one believes you. Just like no one would believe me if I said I could read the original Beowulf scripts just because I know german and english. A basic google search shows that most translations literally required years of linguistics study into 12th-14th century tuscan/florentino. And it takes about 0 sense to understand that you're a massive faggot for even trying to claim you can read medieval tuscan just by knowing modern spanish.

To each his own. I enjoyed the book.

I was willing to give this one the benefit of the doubt. In universe, Israel had advanced knowledge shit was going to go down, judged the risks, and figured out a screening process for the disease. In my opinion, that's enough to justify their choices, both from a logistics and from a logical perspective.

Just from a moral perspective, If you had six months before you were roughly 100% sure there was going to be a giant ass zombie invasion which would kill roughly everyone outside of containment and could use the "defending the country while extending an olive branch of peace" excuse to both protect yourself and save a lot of people, why wouldn't you?

Let it hit the five. It's not on me to decide, and even if it's painless, it's murder. Maybe we'll get lucky and the trolley won't hit the group anyways.

I don't if OP's pic is fake or not, it's true though that Christopher Lee (Saruman) actually knew Tolkien and met him in a few occasions.

The worst ones (like BB) are gone now. Better than a year ago, which I'm grateful for.

I've been here for 2+ years and from what I've gathered Tolkien is accepted as, at the very least, tolerable and the rest of the fantasy genre is pleb trash.

Personally, I like Tolkien and hate pleb trash.

This book will only appeal to 15 year olds. You're not an angsty teenager anymore, OP.

I think D&E is quite an intelligent man, he has good taste in literature and seems to be a rather amusing bloke. Sadly, being a tripfag and a regular troll, he invalidates any good points one could assign to his person and ends up being another typical attention whore.

I would be happy if he continued to post on this board anonymously, he could actually contribute and be a valued member of /lit/.

Thanks for the recommendations. I failed to mention that I've also read Stephen. J. Lee's: "European Dictatorships, 1918-45". I wasn't impressed to be honest, talking about communism and starting the chapter using descriptions such as "dictatorship" seem a little biased to me. I may be wrong though.

I have read animal farm and 1984 (who hasn't?).

I don't know, military tactics, what-if scenarios and other threads such as these don't "fit in" this board. Although, I'm aware a /hi/ board can become /new/, just as anon said. Pity really.

The Stand by Stephen King
The Road by Cormac McCarthy
Metro 2033 Dmitry Glukhovsky
World War Z by Max Brooks
I Have No Mouth, And I Must Scream by Harlan Ellison (<- Short story)

The above works are the only ones I have read that belong in the "post apoc" genre.

I liked them all and if I had to choose, I'd say Metro 2033 was my favorite.
