/lit/ - Literature

Well lads I’ll be getting off 4chan during the Lenten season again. Sure by disabling images I surf rather safely, but /lit/ has taught me the power of words, and aye—even words profane lend my soul a’tarnish. Going face to face against temptation rather than just running away is something I’ll try to do. Analyze why it is exactly I am influenced by the particular inclination that’s striking me. And one needs a pure mind for that.

Gonna try to use this Lenten season to rid myself of stupid habits as well. Just dumb little ventings of pleasure that waste time and dull the edge and awareness one must have. Like daydreaming so much, especially under the influence of headphone music. Throw an hour of prayer a day, it’s a lot but I’ve got time. Haven’t prayed much, don’t know what to say, been feeling a certain lacking of consciousness as of late. Just sitting still and contemplating things divine. If I really got nothing then just recite the divine office slowly. I think that hour of prayer will be priority—the main focus this Lent. I won’t be prohibiting myself from using the 4chan archives for looking at something really specific—I think I gain a lot of benefit from that and I don’t tend to abuse it. Helps to look up a book in particular and see what past ages say. That’s all anons
