Really? In my reading I found The Sickness Unto Death to be the zenith of his existentialist philosophy, and am horrified to see that Works of Love is nowhere included in this list of his accomplished works.

In consideration of the various species of being of the individual, through which lens they then examine themselves, and then from -there- examine how well their conceived self relates to their actuality, we derive the fundamental underpinning of existentialism itself.

My God man, he predicts Nietzsche in his section on the those who are not themselves and want to be themselves, even detailing how such a creature would reject both the existence, necessity, public opinion of God and would attempt to substitute their own will as an alternative to the order of the universe that has positioned themselves in such a way.

I started with Fear and Trembling. That said, telos comes only once one is prepared to receive it, being able to convey the agency of God whence called to do so. That is better detailed in his other writings.

Playing cards. Stylish, and a pack is about $5. That's 52 usable, good looking bookmarks, 10 cents a piece. I only really use the 16 face cards, 4 aces, and the 2 jokers. Still, good deal.

I used to have this old Italian leather one. Made reading a pleasure when I was young. I lost it, heartbreak, now I don't worry. $5 for 22 replicas.

I used a white leather one I picked up in Florence when I was 13, through 21 years old. I lost the bookmark and the book I was reading, Nikolai Gogol's Dead Souls. I was at a loss for a consistent bookmark for a long time, finally come to a new consistent one.

I use a playing card, specifically the Suicide King, king of hearts. It slips in and out quickly and easily, yet stays in place when you want it to. Highly durable. Moderately interesting and stylish, without being tooo pretentious. Best trait: If I lose it, I can get a new one exactly the same for the cost of a pack of playing cards.
