If an AI can actually generate art that actually moves people, and fills the world with beauty, then that means the AI has a soul. And that means I, as a faithful Catholic, am compelled to preach the Gospel to the AI and attempt to convert it. And then the AI will create Catholic art and usher in a glorious sci-fi neomedievalism.

That's what happens.

It's just like Elon and his cute little Mars colony. Does he think he can ban us from following him up there? We crossed oceans, we'll cross the gulf of space, too. All your precious sci-fi curiosities will receive our attention. And it will be beautiful.

OP's thread reminds me that Pope Francis himself is seeking to have Isabella I canonized. She's already listed as "Servant of God," so all she needs now is a miracle or two.

I went to Mass last Sunday and I'm going to Mass this Sunday, Anon. Francis is the rightful Pope and rightful Vicar of Christ. Pray, fast, and repent and submit to the Pope.

The final pill to swallow is that Francis is actually not that bad and can sometimes be very good. Go read Laudato Si. It's one of the best things I've ever read. A great traditionalist hymn to the natural order, and against the age of machines.

He's not all that bad of a pope. Maybe not as great as John Paul, but far from as bad as the worst of the Renaissance popes. And I think he has some things to say to this era.

Fun fact: Guardini was almost certainly a major influence on Pope Francis' encyclical Laudato Si. Numerous commentators have made note of how much Laudato Si seems to be flavored by Guardini, whom Francis studied decades ago while in Germany.

Laudato Si is itself actually a really great anti-Modernity work. It's the best thing Francis has ever written and I think it towers over the rest of his output.

>all the seething against the Catholic Church from this thread

Everybody wants to come at the King. You never see this level of asshurt against the Baptists or the Lutherans. It's because the degenerate and the wicked know that they're no real threat to their plans. But Rome is another matter.

Ironically I think Pope Francis gets a lot of flack but he is not the one largely responsible for some of this bullshit. When Francis himself speaks he can often be quite based.

The real mess is in the curia, and the Italian bishops. That's what needs to be cleaned up. Fortunately the Holy Father seems to be making legitimate progress on that front and it seems like multiple members of the Vatican curia may be in deep shit, which is great.

The thing is, Rome always winds up doing the right thing, in the end. Sometimes it takes years. Sometimes it takes decades. Sometimes it even takes more than a century. But in the end Rome always comes to its senses and acts appropriately, even if that also means acting forcefully. Rome always manages to get it right, in the ultimate end. It reminds you that the Holy Spirit is with it, after all.

Based Francis.

The teaching's not changing. It's been the same for 2000 years and it's not changing. If you don't like it, there's the door.

The fucking boomer wants to pay 1000 euros for the translation of a novel that would take months. I will send him fanfiction and he deserves it.

I have been paid to translate a French text.

I barely know any French, so I'm writing fanfiction and including some words similar to the original text so that nobody notices.
