Has anyone actually read this? I always find it in the yearly lists, but I haven't really seen it discussed here.
In the case you have read it, what did you think about it? Should I pick it up? Does it deserve to be chosen every year as one of the best books ever?

Do you like War and Peace? Imagine War and Peace, but about the Nazi invasion of the Soviet Union. That is Life and Fate by Vasily Grossman.
I just ordered some books, so don't be surprised if you see some threads about Celan, Juan Rulfo and Kenzaburo Oe in the next weeks.
