I've learned more wisdom from reading science fiction than any "classic" literature. Scifi takes an angle of looking at humanity from the vantage point of the potential, thereby gaining a broader view, and the fanfastical nature allows the writers ruminate on the topics deemed taboo in "serious" discourse, like racism, eugenics, theory of mind, sexuality, deep state etc. Not to mention that most sci-fi writers were educated stemlords, why the canon was written mostly by liberally educated, bored aristocrats with too much money
The fuck can a classic novel really teach me, other than that some dipshit britbong christian had marital problems 200 years ago?
