Yeah, I should get Fall into Time to complete the set, you're right. I'm dragging my feet on it because I've actually read a physical copy (the local library used to have one) and I've since saved the pdf. The library's copy has since disappeared, presumably someone realized it has value and stole it. I wonder which posts you're referring to, that was a while back (might not have been me?) and I only made that pic like a year ago.

I have other stuff I've been reading and I want to do the rest of Cioran as a block.

Bibliography. You'll get some nice poetic reflections in each book, but you will also consistently get sadboy stuff in every one as well so if you don't like that, you're just going to have to tough it out to pick out the aesthetic remarks. Personally I wouldn't bother, it doesn't make any difference.

As I suspected. They are untranslated, though the OP has made a first stab.

Read the translator's introduction to All Gall is Divided. He congratulates himself that the core of this particular life-project of his is complete-that earlier book was the last main French work that he ported to English. He suggests the Cahiers themselves as a future project, "if world enough and time", but his own death is quite close and he doesn't seem up to it.

The French translator jew fuck is still alive, and the Romanian translator died young, having struck up a cute friendship with Cioran at the end of his life. We are the only people who would care to see an English rendering of the Cahiers, while simultaneously sticking our noses up at the idea of a translation itself.

I've only actually read Fall Into Time and All Gall is Divided, the rest is a project I haven't done yet but I've skimmed and done enough work to know that it really is all the same. I since got two books of secondary lit (his cute Romanian translator who sought him out like a mystery, and they actually had a cordial friendship at the end of his life, also the one about the Le Ebil Fascist phase). I've been living and drinking alone in my own city hovel now for over six years so I look forward to reading them at some point, but I have another project on deck.

Not that it matters.

Did you read his thesis on Bergson? The Transfiguration of Romania (it's available in French translation and can actually be got)? The minor detritus? I didn't think so.
