Communication with others requires mutual cooperation though. You're just going to embarrass yourself out of pride

>reading fantasy/fiction books
>caring about the fictional characters
>believing in "worldbuilding"
>worshipping imaginary concepts from another person
>most stories revolve around poorly written plots hardly relating to the real world
Why do some people get so wrapped up in fiction? It seems like such a waste of time to orient yourself in a fictional world, with fantasy concepts and ideas written by another person. I could literally just write my own fantasy novels if I wanted to enjoy the genre. I get that story telling is personification of the human experience, but fiction books seem so disconnected and far removed from actual reality. How the fuck am I going to relate to some fantastical, magical character, with motivations I usually can't relate to, in god-knows-what-land, in a story that never catches my interest anyway?

Honestly most fiction seems so fucking boring and pointless
