well since nobody has actually answered the question...
>What are some of the hardest decisions you have to make when reading and writing?
pro writer here

when writing- i am constantly fighting against the word count. of course when writing for the web, it's not that important but when writing text for a brochure or similar, there's only a finite amount of space and there is always more stuff i want to put in than there is space available. working out what is important enough to keep is a challenge- of course it is not always my decision to make (but getting decision makers to actually make decisions is a different challenge)

when reading- it's the other way around. life is short and there is so much stuff that i want to read. i already have a stack waiting to be read that will probably fill up my entire life and yet i keep buying more books. how do i decide which ones to read now, and which will wait until i am in my 60s? first world problems...
