Somewhat accessible philosophers with a lot of intellectual cred, like Foucault, Camus, Zizek, Benjamin, Nietzsche, Adorno. Deleuze if they're adventurous. They don't go too far into fiction, prefer to read 'theory'. Nabokov, Bolano, the great Russians in general, especially the Master and the Margarita. A Little Life is very common, as are Japanese and Korean authors in general. Few American/British authors, surprisingly few women. Likely has a collection of monographs on post-WW2 artists. Chomsky is guaranteed to make an appearance.
