Outside of a few comic scenes in his novels, I honestly can't understand why anyone really likes him. If you think he's anything more than a diary-keeper, and he spends more than a modicum of time editing these transcripts, then I'd have question just why you go so out of the way to justify the undoubtedly true confessions of a Xanax zombie. You should be confident enough to read him as the sedentary bore he is without trying to elevate him to some high art/"voice of our generation" tier.

I'm usually one of those "Well every writer has their merit" limpwrists, but I cannot abide by towelin.
