Elric Saga. For a fan of high fantasy that does not want to think too much and enjoy a simple read, I can not recommend it enough.

Moorcock recommended using the structure of your favorite author.

The books themselves are dull, derivative works with characters no deeper than the paper they are written on. What little plot there is could be written on a playing card. There is a reason why they they never made it big before the video games found them, they have better writing than the books.

The short stories are barely passable. Avoid all at all costs, read Elric or play the video games.

>what are the similarities between the characters and “message”

>Called White Wolf
>An anachronism in the modern world
>A swordsman with a grasp of magic
>Uses alchemy and potion making
>Loves sorcerers
>Mercenary/Bounty Hunter
>White Hair, funny eyes, albino skin
>Unique Sword
>A loner by nature that follows their own code
>Travels the world
>Unable to find peace in the world
>Rejects authority, treads neutrality but slips now and then
>Fading from prominence in a world that hates them
>Commoners fear them, nobles use them

The message is the same too, no gods, no masters. Elric is the better book, by all accounts. There are also many others in the same canon that share a universe.
