That may have been true before Tinder, but now even low quality women can score dates with high quality men. Even if they are ephemeral and never develop into relationships, it's still better to have five minutes of alpha than an entire lifetime of beta.

What shocks me is the lack of empathy that people feel for young men who are being hurt by technological and demographical changes. It is undeniable that social media has created difficulties for many men, they now have to compete with a much larger pool of eligible males, this combined with the decline in the birth rate, which means less young women, means that young men face unprecedented challenges in finding a partner. And yet the only response they are given is "lol kill yourselves weak boys". Is it any wonder that so many of these young men are attracted to destructive cults like incel groups? They are the only ones who care about their issues.

There is plenty of data from social scientists about the rise of involuntary celibacy (though they won't use that term because of its unfortunate implications). It's undeniable that the modern dating market is harder for men than it was in the past. I don't agree with the incel ideology, I don't hate women, but they do have a point concerning the fact that we live in an era of concentration of sexual resources at the expense of the majority. Of course, complete sexlessness is still relatively uncommon, most men still find partners, but these are less attractive than they would be previously, since their "looksmatch" is now hooking up with ripped guys and bearded hipsters off Tinder, and those guys who are less attractive or more social awkward are completely fucked, they don't stand a chance in the current scene.

Childless couples are also of course hugely more common, almost the norm though this can be attribute to choice (or at least the woman's choice)

It is a plain fact that it is harder than its ever been as a white man to expect a loving relationship and a family today than in any recorded history of this situation

Its literally the only reason that we're able to have this conversation. If you look at rates of men living sexless lives its directly correlated with the rise of smartphones and hookup apps with few other objective changes happening in that timeframe
