I don't have a problem with making characters attractive, in general. Nobody wants to hear stories about ugly people.

But if we're talking about the Percy Jackson series, it bothered me that the author went out of his way to transform Frank from a slightly pudgy, panda looking character, to some tall, super buff male model.
