The only acceptable languages to read Dostoevsky in are Russian or Finnish.

I'm giving some feedback first since its good etiquette to do so.

Really like how you opened with an Homeric metaphor. The two first strophes are especially good in how smoothly they flow. I only think you should reword the third one, periods break too abruptly and it's not clear at time.

make it more compact.. Reads as a song, it has good musicality and rythm.

>I give it to you
This ever-beating heart
I speak to You
My ever-loving heart

Beautiful ending

You should choose some different expressions. and depend less upon rhimes.
Definitely change the last two verses

I wrote this poem but I'm not really satisfied with it.
Any advice ?

Morphine
One day, no wonder,
as times were bleak
man was to ponder
what's to seek;
was it Stoics' noble pain relief
or Christians' light that shines in Grief ?
The dying man's bliss, his sleep
he found in sorrow.
The drug tenacious in its grip,
its effects narrow,
we bow our heads and drown
in heaven, rests our frown.

This was made by that guy who only paints young semi-nude chicks lying around. Sure must be nice being able to jerk off to your work.

>Every time I look at that portrait of him his face seems to get a bit stranger.

Despite David's famous, beautiful painting, Marat was regarded as disgustingly ugly with a disease that gave him the skin of a reptile. I remember reading first-hand accounts that his face was so yellow and repulsive that it made others want to vomit.
