I have a feeling that you guys are going to rip me apart about this, but i have to have at least 600 words of poetry written by Monday (in my neck of the woods, it's 10:00PM on a Saturday night). I've been trying to get this one down and I'm kind of drunk (I thought it would help, but its more just making typing a lot harder) and I can't tell if it's terrible or okay/could be worse or it's good or if it even looks like a poem and demonstrates poetic techniques like its supposed to.

at the moment its choppy and unfinished, but i have a few stanzas down:
>Then he saw it,
>sleek silk catching in the mid-morning light,
>a drop of vermillion amongst the racks.

>the pull had been like a fish hook in his gut
>instant and insistent – reeling him in
>a battle lost the moment it begun

>the high neck line and billowing skirt,
>a brief look at the tag told him that it would fit,
(^I hate this line especially I just don't know how to make it more ~poetic~)
>and he could already feel the way the fabric would shift against his skin

Keep in mind that it's for a high school English class, I don't have to be like fucking Emily Dickinson or whatever, but I do need to demonstrate techniques and I need it to be at least worthy of a C grade.
