Why is it that every philosophy student that I speak to hates logical positivism with a passion and generally has no appreciation for their attitude towards language and meaning?

They just think logical positivists were fedora tippers when in fact they were very concerned with the focus and scope of language itself.

What do you do? Your teacher is expecting you to understand the material and yet it's too far out of your reach. He's becoming disappointed. Do you want him to lose respect for you?
