Do you ever give up reading a book/series or do you always stick it out until the end?

The reason I ask is because I'm reading a series at the minute and it's not really very good anymore. I've read most of the books and only have two and a half books to go, but all the time I'm reading it I keep thinking "There are countless classics I could be reading instead of this" but on the other hand, I've invested so much time in to the series I just keep going for the sake of finishing it.

So yeah, do you give up regularly or do you always stick it out, no matter what?
