Start with a novella called The Fox or a short story called Sun. For the actual novels, I would just start with Sons and Lovers and then move to The Rainbow, and then Women in Love, and then Lady Chatterley's Lover. Some of his other novels like The Plumed Serpent are cool too. Make sure to get the Penguin versions so you don't get censored pieces of shit. He also has a lot of cool essays that are collected in Phoenix I and Phoenix II. A good intro biography to him is The Life of D. H. Lawrence by Keith Sagar. It'll make his works way more interesting. Sagar has a few good books on DHL and is a good place for noobs to start.

>We trust state more than family.
I feel bile and melancholy at this statement. How perverse.
