Pope is perhaps partly responsible for the blasphemous blame on blacks, though Bloom said 'Pope, bloodthirsty blaxploiter, wore blackface for the ladies of the court and...' blah blah blah I don't care about the racisms of the Augustan Age, sure it's heralded as the British Golden Age, but what say you? I recall hearing how he had hundreds of hounds in his house (Dogue de Bordeaux, Coton de Tulear, Bouvier des Flandres, and so on) so I set myself on a search for something he said that could constitute a "pooch poem," and here's what I found:
