There's something that rubs me the wrong way about BAPism the same way stoicism does, despite the fact that the goals of both (embracing vitalism and virtue ethics) are superior ends to decadent liberal technocracy. Funnily enough BAP's issue might be aesthetic. I can get behind a Xenophontic defense of physical prowess, maximizing strength so that you can better serve your allies and the state and so that you may better fulfill your obligations and duties. I can even get behind reverence of beauty for its own sake. But the obsession with virility, the constant photo-swapping, the embrace of paganistic symbology, the cliquey nature of his followers and merely rhetorical opposition to simping reminds me of a trumped-up frat mentality. Shallow thinking from exactly the people you would expect.
