for fiction just read to enjoy and if there is anything profound it will come to you naturally. For non fiction, take your time reading and feel free to pause and contemplate something you have just read. also i know this might sound silly and obvious but if there are any words you dont understand then look them up. webster's 1828 dictionary is good if you're looking at older english texts where the definitions of certain words have changed slightly. https://webstersdictionary1828.com/

Over 1000 but I only took notes for 600 of them.

Whatever this one is. It's comfy, doesn't make me sleepy, and I can adjust it and it also rocks a bit if I want.

>what books do you have to keep you occupied?
All of them. Should stack up on candles though. And print out my own writings, too, I guess.
It's not gonna be nukes but a solar flare btw.

This. Just shape your own place.
However, a rich author friend of mine lived in an actual castle (it even had a water-filled moat!) once. That was pretty kino. He didn't have the whole castle though, just a few rooms. Still kino.

If you're not sitting in a book cave you're not reading.
