Okay, /lit/, this is going to be vague as fuck and I apologize for that but I really want to find this story again.

I got it through .pdf format. I remember the guy had a DeviantArt where he posted artwork from it.

It was about novella size. It was a sci-fi novel about how humans will evolve over the course of the next few million years.

I remember it starts out with us colonizing Mars, and the people on Mars slowly but surely evolving differently than us.

Somewhere along the line, a great evil grace of dickheads invades the galaxy and enslaves humanity, turning them into genetic experiments to fuck with like toys. They genetically modify all of us to be best suited towards the planet they place us on, so when they up and vanish out of nowhere, all of the now extremely primitive humans are a different species on ever yplanet.

Most of them die out, but about twenty or so manage to survive, and evolve to sentience. Eventually they reach out and find eachother, and found they had a common ancestor in humans.

Also, sometime after this, one of the species, IIRC, turns themselves into robots and wages war on all the others.

Eventually, all the races ,collectively, ascend to a higher plane of existence.
