The first time you read it as a kid, you'll be into it.
Then you'll grow up and realize how shallow the whole thing is, and how much 'what looks cool' influenced the series.

Surprised there was no HP thread so I thought I'd kick one off. Turned 30 last month, still waiting for that letter from Hogwarts, haha. I just started a re-read of the series; right now I'm halfway through Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I'll also be re-watching the movies soon with my spouse for our anniversary. How have you all been getting your Hogwarts fix lately? Fantastic Beasts discussion also welcome.

What books should I read to understand the change in the taste of our societal elites? Why did they go from literal elitists obsessed with classical music and literature while selling the masses pop culture to becoming obsessed with this pop culture themselves?
