I seriously don't see how humanity as we know it makes it through the century. I doubt everyone will die, but I also very much doubt the world will be recognizable. I just hope the ride isn't too harsh.

Academia a fucking mess, The fields I'm interested in (maths and physics) have advanced to the point where it's nigh impossible to have a major individual impact, the environment is fucked, technocapitalism is ruining everything, the written word is a dying medium, and there doesn't seem to be much hope for the future. I don't like this world.

My birthday is next week, and I think it and the next few days will determine my fate. I've been awkwardly forcing my way through the middle of two paths for far too long, and it's led to nothing but suffering. Either I will become as normal a person I can and live out a normal life or I will give up all illusions and go full bohemian.

I several things in a shipping accident, one of which being my lord of the rings books. I had a quote in there that I loved, but I cannot remember enough of it to google. I can provide some detail below, but please, I'm losing my mind trying to remember it.

1. It was a romantic quote from a male character about a female character

2. I believe the female character to have been Eowyn

3. I believe it was in the Return of the King books.
