It's already over for all those who suffered, and it will be over for those suffering now, in just a moment.
You're projecting the suffering of all time onto the "eternal moment" as if the suffering were eternal. It's not. Look back through time, at all the millennia of human life. Millennia of pain. Gone like they were never here. Thousands and thousands of years may as well be a single moment, because it's gone. It doesn't exist. All the screaming voices of history are silent now. They're not suffering. The only place their suffering lives is in the thoughts of you, living now. You'll join them so soon, you won't have noticed where it all went. Time drags, until you're at the end of it. Then it was all a breeze. No longer here.
You're doing yourself a disservice by wallowing in the darkness. Not living in darkness is not avoiding the truth of life. The truth isn't in the darkness, it's in the light. When you think about suffering, remember: it's already over. It was over as soon as it began. That's the truth. And that's why hope, and not suffering, belongs to eternity. Sooner than you think
